The Border Battle is located at Lincoln Park in Grand Forks. It is a flat grass course. There were 2100 runners and 84 schools at this meet. Teams came from North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Canada. It was a beautiful day, but not a great day for running because of the heat and lack of a breeze.
Joscelyn Eye was able to take advantage of the cooler weather of the day since her race was before noon. She did not disappoint as she ran a personal best in the 3K 7th grade race. She was able to cut 1:30 from her previous best time.
Jeremiah Velasquez also ran a personal best in the JV boys 5K race. He improved his time by nearly a minute.
