Wolves fall to Grand Forks Red River

After two road games and a bye week, Watford City finally got a home football game last Friday. The No. 1 team in the state Grand Forks Red River defeated the Wolves 46-6 on a windy evening at Fridley Field.
Red River scored on their first defensive play of the game when Cameron Klefstad forced and recovered a fumble and returned it 22 yards for a touchdown. Eight seconds into the game, the Wolves found themselves behind 7-0. That was the first of four lost fumbles for Watford City. Landon Holien recovered two and Jacob Foss recovered one. Klefstad would find the end zone again on a 51-yard receiving touchdown on a pass from Pearce Parks. That score was sandwiched in between two rushing touchdowns from Thomas Kraft to give the Roughriders a 28-0 first quarter lead.
