Watford City wrapped up the home portion of their 2023 regular season schedule last Friday night with a 12-0 loss to Williston.
After a 43-0 win over Turtle Mountain on Sept. 30, Watford City had a bye week. When asked if the bye week was helpful or if it slowed down the momentum after that win, Wolves Coach, Justin Johnsrud responded, “That is tough to say. I thought we had a good two weeks of practice. Kids were engaged and our focus was good. I thought we had some miscues that really hampered us and affected the game. A couple of penalties put us behind the sticks and we struggled to find any rhythm offensively, especially in the first quarter. We had a couple of good drives that we just didn’t finish and put points on the board. That is the difference in close games. They made a couple more plays than we did.”
