Danny Griebel

Danny Dale Griebel, age 80, passed away on Jan. 12, 2013, in Penrose, Colo., of natural causes. Funeral services were held at the Historic Gateway Community Church in Florence, Colo., on Jan. 28, 2013. A private memorial service will be held on Monday, May 27, 2013, at the Griebel Farm. A luncheon for friends and family will be at the Ken Sanford residence, 12421 30th St NW, at 2:00 p.m.
Danny was born April 30, 1932, to Edward and Opal (Spence) Griebel at their home. He attended Lake View School through the eighth grade. In the 1950s, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash.
He married Betty Jo Sharon in Raton, Nev. Betty Jo passed away in 1971. He then married Sandy Bean.
Danny was a truck driver. He traveled many miles from Texas to the North Slope of Alaska, and from the Atlantic to the Pacific during his time driving. He drove for Cliff Brice Petroleum delivering gasoline for over 30 years. He retired in 2008 due to health issues. Danny also enjoyed riding the mountain pastures checking cattle, a good cup of coffee and telling stories.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jo; his parents; his brother, Edward; his sister, Doris; granddaughter, Dawn Wallace; and great-grandson, Jayme Wallace.    
He is survived by Sandy Griebel of Penrose, Colo.; his brother, Rodney (Marge) of Plevna, Mont.; sister, Laverne (Ernest) Skjelvek of Dodge, N.D.; daughter, Shari Lewis (Warren) of Longmont, Colo.; sons, Mike (Darla) of Burlington, Colo., Mitch (Rhonda) of Glasgow, Mont., Travis (Cody) of Carbondale, Colo.; grandchildren, John Wallace, Gentry (Jennifer) Griebel, Jerrod Griebel, Jaclyn (Tead) Seat, Janice Griebel, Debra Griebel, Ty Garcia, Wyatt Griebel and Bailey Griebel; great-granddaughters, Tealyn Seat and Temperance Griebel, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
