Janice Boots

Janice Boots, 73, of Watford City, N.D., died Sunday evening, April 3, 2016, at her Watford City residence.
Janice I. (Jensen) Boots was born Oct. 13, 1942, in Stanley, N.D., to Rueben and Alma (Johnson) Jensen. She was the second of five children.
Janice was baptized in the Knife River Lutheran Church in Stanley on Nov. 7, 1942.
She graduated the eighth grade in 1957, and helped on the family farm until she started at the Café in town.
While waiting tables, she met Duane Boots and on Sept. 14, 1963, they were married.
In 1965, they moved to Washington and raised five children; Joie, Tana, Gerald, Warren, and Luaine.
After raising their children they were blessed with ten grandchildren; Dustein, Cody, Patrick, Averyn, Cheyanne, Jerry’d, Colton, Kovey, Preston, and Lacey; three great-grandchildren; Lillian, Heaven, and Jacob.
Janice was a fun loving person that everyone enjoyed being with. She loved the outdoors and cooking for family and friends. When she wasn’t outdoors she would be on the dance floor; everyone loved to dance with her. She also enjoyed putting a garden in and playing cards and pool. Her family was her world and she will be deeply missed.
Janice is survived by two daughters; Tana (Randy) Skarda of Keene, N.D., Luaine of Watford City, N.D.; two sons, Gerald of Kent Wash., Warren (Maria) of Spanaway Wash.; one brother, Wayne of Spanaway Wash.; two sister’s, Laura of Alexander, N.D. and Judy Falcon of Trenton, N.D.; one sister-in-law; Joyce Rogness of Watford City, N.D.; all 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Joie; one brother; one great-granddaughter, Lillian; two nieces, Starr and Christine; one nephew, Tinky; and many in-laws.
Janice is deeply missed and loved by many.  
Visitation was held at the Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home Chapel in Watford City, Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Her funeral service was held on Friday, April 8, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home Chapel in Watford City, N.D. Pastor Mark Honstein officiated. Burial will be in the Schafer Cemetery in Watford City.
