Alexander Public School District to hold special election for $9 million school bond

The Alexander Public School District is holding a special election for the public to decide whether or not to pass a $9 million bond for updating and renovating part of the school building.
The school district has already acquired $10 million for the project, but needs public approval to have the additional $9 million to do all of the work that is needed.
According to Leslie Beiber, superintendent of Alexander Public School District, “The board was able to save and has just been putting money away knowing this is coming; but really, a lot of the money that we’ve been able to put away, the majority of it, is because of the Bankhead-Jones dollars from the county commissioners.
