In the last 15 years, the enrollment of Alexander Public School District No. 2 (APSD) has grown immensely. Did you know that APSD’s student enrollment has gone up by close to 550 percent? Interestingly, a third of that enrollment growth has been within the last five years.
Therefore, it was only a matter of time before APSD began looking as its options to expand. There will soon be a special election to approve the issuance of general obligation bonds in the amount of $15.5 million.
The funds would go toward additions and minor renovations to the existing school building. The proposed expansion intends to add needed classrooms, expand the cafeteria and front office space, add additional working space for staff, and a conference room.
