In the colder months of the year, it can be hard to get into the groove of staying inside. After all, doesn’t everyone love the good ol’ outdoors?  Even if you don’t, a natural dose of Vitamin D never hurt anyone. For those prone to cabin fever, there’s options for outdoor recreation. So what’s available in Watford City?
“Bolken Park’s ice rink is all set up,” says Robin Arndt, Watford City Parks and Recreation supervisor.
Like many outdoor indulgences in Watford City, the Bolken Park and every other park, is open to the public to use.
“At night, it’s usually pretty good. During the day, on those nicer days, it gets a little too soft,” says Arndt, of the ice quality.
For those hoping to get in on some sledding action, Arndt says the sledding hill at the Rotary Park remains available for those in need of healthy heart acceleration.
“It’s getting some use,” says Arndt, of the sledding hill at the Rotary Park.
Whether you actually golf at Fox Hills Golf Course or not, snow bunnies can still hop on over for some fun, free snow play, Arndt says.
“Anyone wanting to go cross country skiing or snowshoeing can go out there as long as they stay off the greens,” says Arndt.
