County helps lead state’s oil production rebound in May

After two back-to-back blizzards in April resulted in North Dakota seeing its oil and natural gas production fall by 20 and 19 percent, respectively, May’s production came roaring back according to Lynn Helms, North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources director.
Not only did the April blizzards impact North Dakota oil production, but Helms said it was also felt nationwide as U.S. storage volumes declined by almost six million barrels.
“The Bakken clearly still has an enormous impact  on U.S. production, storage volumes and price,” stated Helms.
But the good news, according to Helms is that production has quickly recovered.
