Local girl starts new business sewing stuffies

Brooke Hathaway, Watford City’s newest entrepreneur, sold out her entire stock of handmade stuffed goods within hours of listing them through her mother’s Facebook last week. She had posted a description and pictures of the projects she completed and was trying to sell.
In her initial post, she said, “Hi my name is Brooke, I am 11 years old, and I am trying to start a business called Brooke’s Stuffy Stand. I am learning so I can be ready for the Farmer’s Market next year, so I am selling some of my stuffed dogs and pillows at a discounted price while I practice and learn. I plan to branch out to other stuffies, but right now I have three dogs and two pillows.”
“I was kinda surprised,” the crafty 11 year-old said. “I have been thinking about doing this for a long time, and I decided it was time that I just do it. I know I’m not the best sew-er, but I hope I can keep practicing so I can get really good.”
