Local high school singer headed to Carnegie Hall

MacKenzie Olson received notification on Oct. 28, that she has been selected to participate in the world-renowned Honors Performance Series Choir concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City in February 2023.
In early June, MacKenzie was surprised to find a letter addressed to her inviting her to audition for the Honors Performance Choir, and if she was successful, she would be able to perform in historic Carnegie Hall in New York City.
MacKenzie was nominated anonymously and was very surprised to receive the invitation.
“First I made sure that it was real and legitimate, then I told my mom and my choir teacher and got really excited,” MacKenzie said.
