Local quilters make hundreds of stockings for kids in need

As many people try to come up with fresh ideas of things to do for others during the holidays, for the women of the Prairie Rose Quilt Guild, it’s sticking to a tradition that never fails. They recently donated more than 260 handmade Christmas stockings for children attending the Eagles Auxiliary’s annual “Giving Tree” Party, which happens every year in December.
“One of the group members had a lot of leftover fabric. But a lot of us, we save every scrap of fabric of our own,” says Beverly Hanson, Prairie Rose Quilt Guild committee member.
