Olson joins daughters in martial arts journey

After sitting on the sidelines and watching her daughters thrive in Watford City Karate and MMA for the last several years, Christine Olson finally decided she was ready to get in on the action and have some fun by joining karate herself.
“I wanted to sign up back then and she wouldn’t let me,” laughs Olson, glancing over at her daughter, Julia. “So I signed up the day she earned her black belt.”
Part of Olson’s inspiration to join, she says, was seeing her daughters, who are now both black belts, thrive and grow from their involvement in karate.
“Also, every woman should have a basic understanding of self-defense,” she says.
