They married May 14, 1949, and celebrated 70 years of marriage before Henry’s passing in September 2019.
Amy enjoyed many things, among them playing bridge, bowling, square dancing and especially travelling. Amy and Henry spent the years after retirement driving their motor home around the country and enjoyed a trip to Norway. They shared the stories of their adventures with their family.
Amy was known for baking the world’s best apple pie that no one has been able to reproduce.
Many organizations benefitted from her time and energy. She and Henry were devoted members of Trinity Lutheran Church and volunteered wherever they were needed. She and Henry were members of the Sons of Norway and spent many happy hours learning about their heritage and making lutefisk and meatballs.
She leaves behind four children, Judith Schaffer (Thomas), Steven Wisness (Jan), Susan Boehm (Scott), and William Wisness (Terri); there are 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren who will miss her.
Amy was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Jellesed, Doris Berg, Juliet Hellandsaas; and one brother, Lynn Swenson.
