Frank M. Heiser Jr., 85, of Watford City, N.D., passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022, at the McKenzie County Hospital. in Watford City, N.D. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Watford City, N.D. is assisting the family. Condolences may be left on the funeral home website at www.fulkersons.com.
Frank Heiser Jr. was born Nov. 15, 1936, in Dickinson, N.D., to Frank Sr. and Magdalena (Schwind) Heiser. Frank went to school in Fryberg, N.D. He then went to work for his brother and brother-in-law hauling propane. He met the love of his life, Leona Wanner, in Belfield, N.D.
Frank was drafted into the Army in 1960 at the age of 24. Frank and Leona were married on July 18, 1960, and moved to Fort Sill, Okla., for a short time before being stationed in Germany for 18 months. Frank was discharged in 1962 and returned to Belfield to work at the Standard Station until moving to Watford City in 1964, where he went to work hauling propane until he retired in 2006.
Frank enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, visiting with all of his customers, and following his children in all of their activities. Later in life, he enjoyed following his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frank was always handy and could fix almost anything in his Grandpa Workshop. He was always up for a cup of coffee with friends.
Frank is survived by his wife, Leona, Watford City, N.D.; son, Roland, Watford City, N.D.; two daughters, Denise, Watford City, N.D., and Lynn (Scott) Meuchel, Williston, N.D.; four grandchildren, Mike (Kelly) Heiser, Idaho, Ashlee (Jared) Schaff, Watford City, N.D., Beau (Jackie) Heiser, Wyoming, and Ciarra Meuchel, Bismarck, N.D.; three great-grandchildren, Adilyn, Paxton, and Devyn Schaff, Watford City, N.D.; one brother, Bob (Pat) Heiser, South Dakota; two sisters, Rose Heiser, Bismarck, N.D., and Emma Steinmetz, Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
