Judy Norby

Judy Norby

Judy Louise Norby, age 68, passed away on Dec. 17, 2020, at her home in Prosser, Wash., surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on Jan. 4, 1952, in Williston, N.D., to Orrian and Carole (Brown) Levang. She grew up on the family farm 24 miles east of Watford City, N.D., and graduated from Watford City High School. She has been a resident of Prosser Washington for a total of 35 years.
Judy married Gary Norby on Sept. 10, 1976, in Prosser Wash. and after they honeymooned at La Wis Wis Campground. They were married for 44 years.
Judy spent most of her life working in the healthcare system. She was a CNA for Watford City Hospital as well as Sunnyside and Prosser Memorial Hospital before finally retiring in 2011. She also served as secretary for the Calvary Baptist Church.
Judy loved her family more than life itself and her grandkids and great-grandkids were the light of her life. She enjoyed making quilts and blankets for family and friends. She was a master gift giver. If you happen to mention a need, or that something had quit working, you could bet a replacement would be at your door in a few days. We are also sure that Amazon will be calling wondering what happened to her because the family is certain she was their number 1 customer. Judy had the greatest sense of humor and loved pulling pranks. She had a HUGE heart and spent her life caring for others, so it was hard for her to let others help her toward the end of her life. She always felt that it should be the other way around.
Judy is survived by her husband, Gary Norby of Prosser; her children, Shelley Tollefson (Glen) of Wahpeton, N.D., Wade Browning (Elaine) of Connell, Wash., Shauna Underwood (Jason) and Justin Norby (Nicole) of Prosser; grandchildren, Nick (Ally), Ashlyn (Chris), Casey (Keanna), Cody (Kayln), Tyler, Joseph, Jacob, Jackson, Jerritt, Jordon, Bailee, Colton, Devin, Tayler and Aidan; and great-grandchildren, Cayla, Emma, Weston, Dawson, Andrew and coming soon, baby girl arriving in April. She is also survived by her mother, Carole Berwald of Watford City, N.D.; brother, Dean (Carolyn) Levang of Keene, N.D.; sister, Cheryl Lee of Sanish, N.D.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Orrian Levang; her step-father, Loren Berwald; her maternal grandparents, George and Clara Brown; and her paternal grandparents, Melvin and Leone Levang.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private family service and burial will be held in the Prosser Cemetery. You may leave a message for the family at www.Prosserfuneralhome.com
