Louise Arnold

Louise Arnold

Louise Arnold, 62, of Watford City, N.D., passed away in her home following a two-year battle with cancer.
Louise Ann Pittsley was born Jan. 3, 1958, to Glenn & Betty (Jore) Pittsley in Watford City. She attended Watford City Public School and one semester at Williston State College.
She married David Arnold on Feb. 20, 1976. Following the marriage, they made their home east of Watford City where she resided the rest of her life. David passed away on Nov. 9, 2013.
Louise worked at the Coast to Coast Store, operated a craft and consignment store, worked at Mike’s Super Valu and the Good Shepherd Nursing Home before finding the job she loved as an aide at the Watford City Elementary School. She worked there for 24 years until her declining health forced her to retire. Louise never had her own children and because of their love of children David and Louise were foster parents for several years. She loved spending time with the neighborhood children and treated them like her own. Louise was proud of all her nieces and nephews and was especially proud to be godmother to her nephew, Tyler Pittsley.
Louise had a love of flowers, so in 1986, she opened D & L Little Greenhouse and operated it until this past season. Thanks to some very special friends of hers, the greenhouse was able to be open while she was fighting her cancer battle the past two years.
In her spare time, Louise loved fishing, camping, going to yard sales and going to the casino.
Louise is survived by her father Glenn (Rosalie) Pittsley, of Bowman, N.D; her brothers, Donny Pittsley and Jim (Kristy) Pittsley, both of Watford City; her sisters, Karen (Dale) Hagen of Arnegard, N.D., Ellen (Jim) Jefferson of Mandan, N.D., and Nancy (Dennis) Cornwell of Jerome, Idaho; sisters-in-law, Mary Pittsley of Mandan, Sandee Pittsley of Killdeer, N.D., and Merlita Pittsley of Merced, Calif.; brother-in law, Dwight Norby of Keene, N.D.; in-laws, Josh and Sue, Rochester, Minn., Harry and Marcie, Barry, Trish, Marty, Sam, of Williston, N.D.; several nieces and nephews and two special foster daughters, Becky and Betty.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband; her mother; her siblings Della Norby, Leroy Pittsley, David Pittsley and Glenn Pittsley Jr.; her beloved dog and best friend, Yogi; her grandparents; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
