Walleye keep on winning
Watford City split with Sidney but came back to sweep Tioga and Crosby in American Legion baseball action this past week. The Walleye’s record now stands at 14-2 overall and 8-0 in league play.

On your marks, get set, go! This year Watford City’s fifth annual Homest Run started out with a bang - literally. Thunder, lightning, and quite a bit of rain threatened this year’s run. But after a two-hour delay, the race was back on with sunny skies.

Wolves take fourth at State Class B Track
Watford City’s boys track team capped off its 2010 season on a high note on Saturday as the Wolves took fourth place at the State Track and Field Meet in Bismarck with 51 points.
The Watford City girls track team added another trophy to their collection as the Wolves 1,600 meter relay team consisting of Dani Bates, Kade Ross, Marti Quale and Sibee Jokela bested the rest of the Class B ranks on Saturday afternoon to claim the state title with a time of 4:10.56.
Wolves fall to Ryan for Region baseball title
For the second year in a row, Watford City’s baseball team will be sitting at home while Minot Ryan will represent the region at the State Class B Baseball Tournament.
Wolves win Region 7 Track Meet
In spite of windy and rainy conditions, Watford City’s boys and girls track teams ran away from the competition at the Region 7 Track Meet held this past Saturday at Tioga as the Wolves boys and girls won regional championship titles.

Watford City’s boys golf team punched their ticket to the State Class B Boys Golf Tournament last Friday as the Wolves carded a team score of 344 to take third place at the Region 6 Golf Tournament.
Anderson qualifies for Girls State Golf Tourney
While the Watford City girls golf team missed qualifying for the State Class B Golf Tournament as a team, Emilie Anderson qualified individually as she finished in the top 10 at the Region 6 Tournament last Friday with a 94.
Track teams set new school records
The Watford City boys track team is still dominating area track meets as the Wolves won the Rotary and Dickinson Track Meets this last week and then took third place at the Velva Last Chance Meet on Monday.
Wolves pick up three wins in baseball action
Watford City picked up three more wins to improve their season record to 14-6 overall and 9-3 in Region play as the Wolves downed New Town 10-0 and Trinity Christian 9-1 in high school baseball action last Monday and then downed Kenmare 12-0 on Thursday.
Boys golf team takes 5th place at NW Conference
The Watford City High School boys golf team took fifth place with a team score of 365 to place in fifth place at the Northwest Conference Golf Tournament on Monday, May 10 at the Eagle Ridge Country Club in Williston.

The Watford City girls golf team shot a 444 to take fifth place at the Northwest Conference Golf Meet at the Prairie Rose Golf Course last Monday and then returned to Stanley on Saturday to compete in the Individual State Qualifier.
