Homecoming victory brings Comets season record to 4-2

The Alexander Comets beat the Tioga Pirates 30-8 on Friday in an important Region 6 matchup. The Comets win improved their season record to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in region play. They have now won all three of their home games so far.
Neither team dented the scoreboard in the first quarter. Once Alexander found the end zone in the second, they never looked back. “We were looking to get back on track after a tough loss in Westhope,” said Alexander head coach, Trey Jacobson. “The boys had a good week of preparation and it felt like we were ready to go. Going into the game without our starting QB (Jacob Novak) and TE/DE (Jadon Champion), we were relying on a couple young guys to step up.
